Science - Forces in Motion

I thought i had taken pictures, but don't see them.  Here are 2 different videos of our Forces in Motion Fun!

Try some of these forces in motion activities at home.  We discuss the word "collide" as opposed to "crash" lol.  Gentle force vs harder force.
Science is always a Favorite!!

Have fun!!

Math Partner Games with Mrs. Sabatini

Mrs. Sabatini, our Math & Science specialist came to teach us some fun partner Math games 2 weeks ago.  I thought I had taken pictures of the kids playing the games, but I guess not.  Too busy helping and having fun!

Some of the games were:
  • dominoe math cards- counting who has more or less quickly
    • you can use real dominoes a variety of ways too
    • how many more to make 10
  • the shape race - picking a shape card, moving to that shape, naming
    • find shapes around the house, describe shapes (flat vs 3D solid - how many faces, edges, corners)
  • 10 frame cards - give each partner the same number, flip over, compare who has more/less
    • make your own 10 frame cards with a variety of numbers (make multiples of each)
I think there was one more that I can't remember for the life of me.  Ask the kids!  They'll remember if there was another lol!  You can make your own and try some of these at home! Have fun!

Folktales Reader's Theater

The Mitten

The Little Red Hen

The 3 Pigs

Goldilocks & The 3 Bears

We went to some of our siblings classes to "perform" for them last Thursday. The kids talked about being nervous, but excited.

They were Awesome!!

The kids thoroughly enjoyed Reader's Theater!!  They brought home their "parts".  It may be fun to fun lines together if you still have them.

Some of the things the kids really worked hard on.....
  • reading all parts with their reading finger
    • we highlighted their own part
  • keeping their paper down in front of their stomach
  • using a big voice
  • using inflection (they were so cute with this) while still being clear
  • being a good audience member
Be in touch soon!
