Dr. Seuss Day - Bring a favorite Dr. Seuss Book

Please have your child bring a favorite Dr. Seuss book to school on Monday and Tuesday, March 3rd & 4th.  We looked through all of our school Dr. Seuss books today and the children all picked out ones they have at home.  They also said they had different ones at home too.  We would loved to share as may Dr. Seuss books throughout the month of March with the children.  We will give the children a choice as to whether they want to keep theirs at school or bring home.  Please remember to put your child's name in their book so there won't be any confusion.

Thank you so much!

Miss Carol
(** We also added some Dr. Seuss stories to our Ipad.**)

Dr. Seuss Day

We decorated our classroom doors today for Dr. Seuss Day.

We made the Cat in the Hat for one of our doors.  The children painted a red and white pattern for the hat and painted his red bow.  The children took turns adding the face.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Some of the children painted a red and white pattern for Dr. Seuss' birthday cake.  We already got some complements on our doors today.

Pink Day

We went on a Color Hunt and found lots of different pink things.

Snowy Day Fun

Outside in the field

There has been so much snow that we have been sinking when we walk.  The teachers sink all the way to their knees to make big holes.  Sometime we have a hard time getting our foot out of the hole.  So much fun!!

The children have made snowmen, snow angels, used big shovels, little shovels & pails for castles, snow forts, etc.  The children have sprayed colored water on the snow with our squirt bottles.

Indoor Snowy Day Bulletin Boards

Peter and The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats

We painted our big snowman white for White Day and made marble painted snowflakes.

We traced our hands, cut out mittens & decorated them with colored felt.  We also cut out circle snowballs and glued snow glitter on them for our "Let's Make Snowballs" bulletin board.

Indoor Snow Fun

Even when it was too cold to go outside, we brought the outside in.  It was amazing how fast the snow would melt in our warm classroom.  We still needed mittens while we played in the snow.

Snowball Shakes

We put a rounded scoop of vanilla ice cream in our cups and the children poured milk over the ice cream.  It was so much fun to see how fast or slow the ice cream would pop up from under the milk.

We also made hot chocolate in January.

One day we went to the cafeteria to drink our hot chocolate and another day we made the hot chocolate in our classroom.  We added mini marshmellows too.  Delicious!!

Valentine's Day Fun

We made heart shaped cookies for our snack

We sprinkled flour, patted, rolled & used a heart shaped cutter with the sugar cookie dough.  We put all the cookies on a huge cookie sheet from the kitchen and brought them down to the kitchen oven.

We turned our white frosting pink with red food coloring while singing our stirring song and the frosted and added red sprinkles.

Delicious!!
