Lindsay & Her Puppet Pals

The children were mesmerized by Lindsay & Her Puppet Pals this morning. They watched intently as Lindsay brought out so many wonderful puppets.  Some were small and some were life-size.  It was such fun to hear the children's giggles and laughter throughout the puppet show.

The mouse and the cheese

 The Tortoise and the Hare

 The Sheep

Bob the Robot

Dancing with Bob the Robot

 The Dinosaur

 Super Tiger

 The goat

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Lindsay & Her Puppet Pals!!
Can't wait until next year!

Butterflies

The children were fascinated to observe the Life Cycle of the Butterfly.
1.  Our eggs came in a small, clear, covered cup in the mail.
2.  5 tiny caterpillars grew into big ones.  One of the tiny caterpillars took a long time to get big like the others.
3.  The caterpillars climbed up to the top of the cup.
4.  The caterpillars hung from the top of the cover and made their chrysalis (cocoons).
5.  Finally the butterflies came out.  They just seem to appear.  So Exciting!!
6.  We took the butterflies outside on the field to set free.  On Wednesday, we let 2 go and they flew right up to the sky.  On Thursday, we let another 2 go and they flew low to the ground.  One of the butterflies stayed on Miss Carol's thumb for a little while.  So much fun to watch!!

Exciting News!!!  Our 5th and smallest caterpillar finally turned into a butterfly today.  We will set that one free on Tuesday.

Spring Tea

The children did such a wonderful job singing for our Mothers and Grandmothers at our Spring Tea. They sang our Good Morning Song, 2 Little Blue Birds, and I'm a Little Teapot.

The children told their Mothers and Grandmothers about all the many "Signs of Spring".
butterflies
green grass
flowers
baby birds
dragonflies
lady bugs
flower buds
ants
dandelions
bumble bees
green bushes
mosquitoes
raspberry bushes

The children also made a delicious coffee cake that they served their Mothers and Grandmothers.

It was such a wonderful morning and so nice to see so many of our families!

Earth Day

The children sang "We've Got The Whole World In Our Hands" during the Earth Day Celebration.  They painted the earth and put their handpring all around.

Miss Danielle asked the children what they can do to make the earth beautiful during her student teaching time.  The children had lots of different ideas.

The children made their own Earth collages with Miss Danielle.

Goodbye to Miss Danielle

Egg Hunt

We went on our Egg Hunt to the Library, Cafeteria, Art Room and our classroom.  The children looked for the eggs with their names in all the rooms.  So much fun!

We made oval shaped Egg rice crispie treats for our snack.
