Picnic Time

We would like to start having some picnic snacks outside as the weather gets nicer.  We would appreciate some snack and drink donations.  Let me know what you may be able to help with. 100% fruit juice Popsicles  Gogurts  100% juice boxes  lemonade juice boxes Small water bottles  Healthy snack packs Pretzels Popcorn Whole grain fish Animal crackers Teddy grahams Etc...

Large plain shopping bags needed

We are in need of large shopping bags to decorate and help carry all our preschool things in for our Goodbye Picnic.  Would love to have them by June 8th.  Thanks so much!

Caterpillar Update

Four of the five caterpillars climb to the top of the cup and started to make their cocoons/chrysalis.  One of the caterpillars/chrysalis fell.  It has been so exciting to observe the caterpillars.  They were so tiny at first, then got bigger.  They were at the bottom at first and then climb to the top.   It's time to set up the butterfly net.  We will let you know as soon as it happens.

Planting with Mr. Prazar - Thursday Class

 Yesterday we planted spinach and cabbage.  We learned that we need to plant the spinach seeds in a hole and we can sprinkle the cabbage seeds on top of the soil.  We are watering with our squirt bottles and watering cans.  We are going to put up signs to let everyone know which gardens are ours.

Planting in Miss Carol's Class

We planted some Nasturtium flower seeds.  It has been so excited to observe them as they are all growing at different times.  Some of them are really tall and one has not yet sprouted.  I bet it will sprout by Monday.  Look for them to come home soon.

We also sorted them by tallest to smallest.

Goodbye Miss Anna

Miss Anna's last day with us was yesterday.  She was such a wonderful addition to our class on Tuesday and Thursday.  We compiled a book of what the children thought was special about Miss Anna.  She just found out that she will be doing her student teaching here at Steward next year in a Kindergarten and First Grade class.  She will be missed, but it will be nice to see her in September around Steward!

Caterpillars

Our caterpillars were mailed to Steward the other day.  The children made many predictions as to what might have been in the small box.

Planting with Mr Prazar - Monday Class

We planted seeds for lettuce, peas, beans and carrots.  We will be able to water our little garden when we go out to our preschool playground.  Can't wait to watch how everything grows.

Arbor Day

On Friday morning we went to the Arbor Day Celebration out on the back field.  The Peabody Family and the Topsfield Garden Club planted a special tree and we sand a special song about a tree with Steward's Music Teacher, Miss Swanson.
